Nathan Mitchell - Executive Chairman

Nathan has a lifelong involvement with the drilling and resource exploration industry.  Since commencing with the Mitchell Group in 1989 and later appointed the lead role in the company from 2000, Nathan drove a period of unprecedented growth doubling the size of company and expanding operations internationally to Indonesia, India, China, USA and Zambia.

After the sale of Mitchell Drilling's Australian operations in August 2008, Nathan incorporated the Mitchell Group as an investment company to manage and expand all international and domestic investments. Nathan is widely recognised as a energy and resources industry leader in Australia and internationally.

Chris Baumann - Executive General Manager

Chris leads the execution of group strategy, and management of a diverse range of group business operations and investments at the Mitchell Group, with a team of over 300 in Australia and internationally. Chris holds broad commercial experience in management, investment analysis, private equity and corporate finance.

Chris has supported various group initiatives, including capital raising, project financing, restructuring, take-overs and various other commercial and corporate transactions. Chris is deeply involved with supporting business growth across the Mitchell Group’s underlying investments. Prior to joining the group, Chris was involved in commodities brokerage and consulting with Salva Resources, successfully supporting various supply agreements between major trading houses in China, USA and India.

Nigel White - General Counsel

LLB., B.Comm., FGIA

Nigel joined the Mitchell Group in early 2011, initially as a consultant, having worked with the Mitchell’s before the sale to AJ Lucas in 2008. Prior to this, he spent seven years with BT Funds Management in Sydney and three and a half years with Fidelity in Asia as its General Counsel. He began his career at Feez Ruthning (now Allens Arthur Robinson) in Australia and has worked in London and Asia, both in-house and in private practice. Nigel has significant experience in contract law, resource law, M&A, project financing, managed investments, corporate governance, employment law and IP law. Nigel completed the Governance Institute of Australia’s Applied Corporate Governance Course in 2014 and has been admitted as a Fellow of the Governance Institute. 

Rod Massy - Financial Controller

Rod comes to the Mitchell Group with over 20 years’ experience in the banking and corporate accounting sectors. Commencing his career in the banking industry, Rod spent 5 years each in both the retail banking and investment banking sectors.  In 2006, he moved into corporate accounting gaining experience in a diverse range of industries from education, job network and recently, the resource industry. Rod is CPA qualified and holds an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business.

Rosanna Celesto - Executive Assistant

Rosanna is an accomplished administrator with over 15 years’ experience in executive administration and office management. Prior to the Mitchell Group, Rosanna worked in various mid to top tier global law firms which forms the foundation of her professional approach to all business operations. Rosanna is Executive Assistant to Nathan Mitchell and Grant Moyle.
